You know what day is today??? It's Teachers' Day eve. I'll be coming as the emcee for today's concert.
I woke up this morning with sunlight dazzling my eyelids and a delicious smell of Milo.
"Rrrrriiingggggg" went my handphone alarm. I disabled it and buried my throbbing head in the pillow, trying to sink into sleep again for a couple of minutes. *Which normally I would find very easy* But today, something was niggling at me. Have I forgotten something?
As I half opened my eyes and turned about on my bed, my mind groped blearily around for clues.
It's Tuesday morning. Oh shit, It's teachers day eve today.
I quickly got up from my bed and took my shower, got dressed and ran through my scripts again and again.
I was a little bit frightened but not at all nervous. I was not having any stage fright as I had appeared in stage alot alot of times. I was told to speak alot during the concert instead of just keeping the concert plain by just announcing the items of the concert.
The reason is because my 'beloved' emcee partner didn't attend any rehearsal, so I had to speak alot and keep the concert alive.
Only the second yr students will be watching the concert and I was soo afraid that I might make mistakes. Infact I did one mistake(Hahaha). Instead of saying "TAK WAN DO, I said TAK WAN DAE" which was soo embarrassing. After the concert so over, some second yr students were teasing me "Did you saw the TAK WAN DAE" when I pass by them. Oh shit, that was really embarrassing.
Overall, the concert went well but there were a few cock ups that I could even make a list out on that.
Cock ups for the teachers' day concert:
1. Emcees, including myself, did not had enough practise.
2. Emcees, were standing at one place all the while instead of walking about.
3. Floor manager was moving about here and there instead of standing at one place.
4. Walkie-talkies were having a problem that the stage crew and the AVA were not able to hear
5. Stage crew were not alert enough
6. Didn't had a full dress rehearsal for the teachers' day concert
7. One of the indian dancer's pants drop off (That was utterly embarrassing for the indian fella)
8. Female singer too sexy ( Her cleavage was soo visible and her pants were tight enough to
see through the thong she was wearing)
I think that was all. Since it was the 1st time for we student councilors to organise a show like this, the vice-president commented that we did a wonderful job. He even concluded that we were good enough to organise a show. Most important thing he mentioned was on me. He said that I did a good performance. *I really need that alot because my partner went blurr a couple of times and I actually cover up for him* Shit la he!
Well..I hope we had learnt from our mistakes and wil not repeat the same mistakes again. I would promise on behalf of all first yr student councilors that we would do a much more better show next time.
My earnest wishes to all my teachers: My kindergarten teacher, primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, my IT department class advisors and NOT forgetting my ever so beloved and still loving tuition teacher, Mr. Hamza,
A VAIR VAIR HAPPY TEACHERS DAY!!
LOVE YOU ALL. THANKS FOR BRINGING ME UP FOR WHAT I AM NOW!
All of your'll had done a very important part in my life. I will never forget you people.
